Beverage Monday.

I thought of Kahlua® today since the weather is getting cooler and to me Kahlua® is a cold weather drink., unless you make frozen Mudslides. It is a coffee flavored liqueur from Mexico.

Here are few favorite recipes~

Mudslide
1 part Kahlua
1 part Baily's
1 part vodka
2 parts cream
Pour ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a shot glass.

Keoke Coffee
1/2 oz Kahlua®
1/2 oz creme de cacao
1/2 oz brandy 4 oz coffee 1 1/2 oz whipped cream
Pour alcohols into a coffee cup, add coffee and top with whipped cream

Kahlua Casanova
1 part Kahlua®
2 1/2 parts Vanilla Vodka
1/4 part Sambuca
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with 3 espresso beans.

Venues of the Southland~The Grand Event Center

The Grand Event Center~Long Beach

Today I am not featuring a view or anything really unique. Today I am featuring a place that is easy on the wallet. The Grand Event Center is located right by the 405 freeway in the middle of Long Beach. The rooms are fairly basic, but sometimes what is important is not the venue but the people who are filling it. They don't charge for the room as long as meet the rooms guest minimum. The largest seats about 400. The smallest 80. The also have a covered patio for the ceremony. The value is the menu.

The Palm Terrace

The Garden Room~there's a built in dance floor and bar in this room

The Grand Ballroom

The Catalina Room

In these times you might not be able to afford the place of your dreams, but you still can have a beautiful wedding.

Happy Planning,

My Little Knight

Ok so here is the cutest knight ever!
I hope everybody had a fun Halloween.

Beverage Monday. Absolut Los Angeles

How cool is this? ABSOLUT® has resurrected its cities collection and Los Angeles is the second in the series. New Orleans came out last year. They are also donating $250,000 to Green Way LA an environmental group.

It is a blend Acai, Acerola, Pomegranate, and Blueberry. The made it with those flavors to showcase LA's trendy, environmentally forward, and health-conscious ideals. It is made with 100% natural ingredients.

Green Way LA is an organization dedicated to restoring nature’s services while providing for the health and welfare of the community. The donation will be used towards the “Green Streets” initiative. By modifying streets, curbs, and sidewalks, and by planting appropriate trees and other vegetation, rainwater and other polluted urban runoff is naturally cleaned before otherwise flowing unfiltered into the Pacific Ocean.

Here are a couple of recipes from their site using ABSOLUT® Los Angeles. Let's celebrate the City of Angels!

ABSOLUT® LA LA LAND

1 parts ABSOLUT® LOS ANGELES
1 part Cranberry Juice
1 part Pomegranate Juice
1 part Lemon-lime Soda

Build ingredients into a hi-ball glass filled with ice. Garnish with a wedge of lime.

ABSOLUT® PERFECT ANGEL

1 parts ABSOLUT® LOS ANGELES
1 part Lemon-lime Soda
2 parts Cranberry Juice

Build over ice into a cocktail glass

Happy Halloween!

In honor of Halloween here's a black and orange board. A touch of Halloween and a little glamorous. Don't you just love the black velvet gown? Next year Halloween is a Saturday so if you decide to get married on October 31st you don't need to go goth or scary.
Enjoy,

~Happy 75th Birthday Mom, wherever you may be~

Clustrmaps

Locations of visitors to this page

This is A Joyeux Blog's actual map!

I don't know if you have noticed the map on the lower right side of A Joyeux Blog. It is from Clustrmaps. It shows you where people have visited you from. I put it up on September 29th and during the last 30 days I have had visitors from six continents. {I don't think there are that many people getting married in Antarctica!} When I put it up I thought I would probably just get visited from a few people in California. How surprised I have been to have people from all over the world reading my blog. It does only count people who have visited my blog directly not those who receive email subscriptions or my feed. So if you want to show up as a dot click on through.

Thank you to all of you that have visited,
